Managing User Privileges

What are user privileges? If you want to let your users do some specific administrative task like administration of VCS servers registry, you give them privileges. Privileges are instance-wide in contrary to roles which are dealt out per project.

Here is the list of all possible privileges with brief explanations:

  • May administer users – allows you to add new users, change other users data, privileges and statuses
  • May add projects – allows you to add new projects (user menu -> new project)
  • May import Bugzilla data – allows you to import data from Bugzilla, currently this feature needs some manual tweaking in code too
  • May administer VCS servers registry – allows you to add new VCS servers and edit their data
  • May change password – allows you to change your password; it is useful to not give user a password change privilege if it is meant to be used by many people

List of users gives quick overview of user privileges in Changelogic:

By clicking on user's name and opening “Privileges” section, you can change user's privileges. For changing user's privileges, you will need user administration privilege, otherwise it only displays you the user's privileges.
