Abandoning Changes

Why abandon changes?
Some changes never quite make it. Fact of life. Some are created as experimental in first place, others are dropped on the way. Abandoning allows to get such dead changes off the open changes list.

Abandoning

A change can be abandoned on its details page by entering a comment about the reasons and clicking “Abandon”. Before abandoning, any unfinished microchanges planned into the change must be either abandoned or replanned.

Upon abandonding, the state of the change is updated to “abandoned” and relations with implementable tasks are cancelled. The change is left without owner.

Reopening

After abandoning, a change can be reopened from its details page by clicking on “Reopen”. Reopening restores the state and owner of the change. Relations with implementable tasks are not restored. You might be required to replan the change along with reopening it if it would be impossible to integrate the change according to old planning.
