Changelogic provides you with out-of-the-box working branching model, which lets you do emergency releases as well as plan maintenance releases. During integration, Changelogic makes sure all fixes made for support branches are also integrated into all later development branches. The only real effort needed to make this model work is to notify Changelogic of any releases, so it would adjust the branch tree and planning of changes accordingly.
By default, new changes are created being planned into the latest known test release cycle – assuming that most of work is development. To support an earlier release, the planning needs to be adjusted, either on the change adding form or later on. The planning of a change can be adjusted as long as integration has not begun. Read the page about planning changes for more information on the topic.
Statistics: according to Changelogic practice so far about 50% of overall releases are done to support production. So you shouldn't underestimate the importance of the branching model allowing such usage.
